நூற்றாண்டு: ஆன்மிகமும் அரசியலும் இரு கண்கள்!
தெய்வத் திருமகனார் முத்துராமலிங்கத் தேவரை இந்நாட்டுக்காக ஈன்றளித்த பெருமைக்குரியோர் உக்கிர பாண்டியத் தேவரும், இந்திராணி அம்மையாரும்.
இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டம் பசும்பொன் கிராமமே இவர் அவதரித்த திருத்தலமாகும். 30.10.1908 இவர் பிறந்த பொன்னாளாகும். இவர் ஆறு மாதக் குழந்தையாய் இருந்தபோதே அன்னையை இழந்தார். சாந்தபீவி எனும் இஸ்லாமிய அம்மையாரே இவருக்குத் தாய்ப்போல் ஊட்டி வளர்த்தார். இவருக்குக் குருவாக அமைந்து கற்பித்தவரோ கிறித்துவப் பாதிரியார் ஒருவர். எனவே இவரது மத நல்லிணக்கத்திற்கு இதுவே வித்து எனலாம்.
தொடக்கத்தில் தம் இல்லத்திலும், பின்னர் கமுதி, பசுமலை, மதுரை, இராமநாதபுரம் முதலிய இடங்களிலும் கல்வி கற்றார். இவர் இளமை முதலே நாட்டு விடுதலையில் நாட்டம் கொண்டார். தம் பத்தொன்பதாம் அகவையில் மூத்த காங்கிரஸ் தலைவர் ஸ்ரீமான் சீனிவாசக அய்யங்காரின் வழிகாட்டுதலால் அரசியலில் அடியெடுத்து வைத்தார். காங்கிரஸ் பேரியக்கத்தில் தம்மை இணைத்துக் கொண்டு விடுதலை வேள்வியில் தீவிரமாகப் பங்கேற்றார். காந்திஜி அறிவித்த கள்ளுக் கடை மறியலின் போது தமக்குச் சொந்தமான பனை மரங்களை வெட்டி வீழ்த்தினார்.
ஒரு சமயம் இராமநாதபுரம் பகுதிக்கு மூதறிஞர் இராஜாஜி தேர்தல் பிரச்சாரத்திற்கு வருகை தந்த போது அவரை மாட்டு வண்டியில் அமர்த்தி இவரே சாரதியாகச் செயல்பட்டார். தீரர் சத்தியமூர்த்தியுடன் இணைந்து தமிழகமெங்குமுள்ள பட்டி தொட்டிகள் எல்லாம் சுற்றி அனல் பொறி பறக்கப் பிரச்சாரம் செய்து காங்கிரஸ் பேரியக்கத்தை வளர்த்தார். இவர் பெரு நிலக்கிழாராயினும் தம் நிலங்களை உழுபவர்களுக்கே உரிமையாக்கிய உத்தம சீலராவார். தேசியமும் தெய்வீகமும் இவரது இரு கண்கள். இவர் நாட்டு நலனில் நாட்டம் கொண்டதால் இறுதிவரை திருமணமே செய்து கொள்ளவில்லை.
ஒரு சமயம் காமராஜர் விருதுநகர் நகராட்சித் தலைவரானதற்குத் தேவரின் தீவிரப் பிரச்சாரமே காரணமாகும். 1933 ஆம் ஆண்டு இராமநாதபுரம் மாவட்டக் கழகத் தலைவர் பதவி தேவருக்குக் கிடைக்க வாய்ப்பிருந்தும் அதனைப் பெருந்தன்மையோடு தம் ஆத்ம நண்பரான – பின்னாளில் சென்னை மாகாண முதல்வராகவும், ஒரிசா ஆளுநராகவும் பதவி வகித்த – இராஜபாளையம் பி.எஸ்.குமாரசாமி ராஜாவுக்கு விட்டுக் கொடுத்தார்.
ஜமீன் ஒழிப்புப் போராட்டத்திலும், மதுரை மீனாட்சி ஆலைத் தொழிலாளர் போராட்டத்திலும், கைரேகை மறுப்புச் சட்டப் போராட்டத்திலும் தீவிரமாக ஈடுபட்டு அவற்றை வெற்றி பெறச் செய்தார். ஆங்கில அரசு அமுல்படுத்திய குற்றப் பரம்பரைச் சட்டத்தை நீக்கப் போராடி அதிலும் வெற்றி கண்டார். இவரது செயல்பாடுகளைக் கண்டு அஞ்சிய ஆங்கில அரசு இவரைப் பேசவிடாது வாய்ப்பூட்டுச் சட்டம் போட்டது. காங்கிரஸ் கட்சியில் இருந்த போதும், பார்வர்டு பிளாக் கட்சியில் இணைந்த பின்னரும் பலமுறை சிறைவாசம் அனுபவித்தார்.
1937 மார்ச் 11 ஆம் நாள் நடைபெற்ற திரிபுரா காங்கிரஸ் மாநாட்டுத் தலைவராக நேதாஜியைத் தேர்வு செய்ய தேவர் அரும்பாடு பட்டார். அது முதல் அவரோடு நெருங்கிய நட்புப் பூண்டு அவரது சீடராகவே மாறினார்.
08.07.1937 ல் அன்றைய முதல்வர் ராஜாஜியும் விடுதலை வீரர் வைத்தியநாத ஐயரும் தாழ்த்தப்பட்டோரை மதுரை மீனாட்சியம்மன் கோவிலுக்குள் ஆலயப் பிரவேசம் செய்விக்க முயன்றனர். ஜாதி வெறியர்கள் அதனைக் கடுமையாக எதிர்த்தனர். தாழ்த்தப்பட்டோர் பலரைத் தம் இல்லத்தில் வைத்து ஆதரித்து வந்த பசும்பொன் தேவரின் ஒத்துழைப்பால் தான் அது வெற்றிகரமாக நிறைவேறியது.
நேதாஜியின் தொடர்புக்குப் பின்னர் காந்திஜியின் மிதவாதப் போக்கைக் காட்டிலும், நேதாஜியின் போர்க் கொள்கையே நம்நாட்டு விடுதலைக்கு உகந்தது என்ற முடிவுக்கு வந்தார். தேவரின் அழைப்பிற்கிணங்க 06.09.1939 அன்று நேதாஜி மதுரை வந்து தம் கொள்கையை மக்களிடையே பரப்பினார். நேதாஜி அமைத்த போர்க்குழுவில் தேவரும் இடம் பெற்றார்.
1946 ஆம் ஆண்டு தமிழ்நாடு முதலமைச்சர் ஆந்திர கேசரி பிரகாசம் இவரைத் தொழிலமைச்சராகப் பதவி ஏற்குமாறு இருமுறை வற்புறுத்தியும் இவர் இணங்கினாரில்லை. இந்நிகழ்வுகளால் இவருக்குப் பதவி ஆசை அறவே இல்லை என்பது கண்கூடு.
இவர் இப்புவியில் வாழ்ந்த காலம் 55 ஆண்டுகள்தாம். ஆனால் சிறையில் வாடியதோ 10 ஆண்டுகளுக்கு மேல். இவரது அருந்தொண்டினைக் காணப் பொறுக்காத காலன் 30.10.1963 அன்று இப்பூவுலகை விட்டே அபகரித்துச் சென்றான்.
ஒரு பக்கம் நாட்டு விடுதலைக்காகப் போராடியவராகச் செயல்பட்டாலும் மறுபக்கம் சிறந்த முருக பக்தராகவும் ஆன்மீகவாதியாகவும் விளங்கினார் தேவர்.

Though I like this write up on DEVAR I am extremely sorry to see present poor conditions( economic and social) of the entire DEVAR people. I would have appreciated DEVAR if he had built schools and colleges for the uplift of the DEVAR people and encouraged them to do business and other socially uplifting activities.
But, poorly, in line with his caste people mentality, he was fighting aimlessly without any concrete ideology. It is completly untrue that he did any thing good for the welfare of scheduled caste people or his own caste people. DEVAR caste people in those days and even now, unfortunately, believe that they can terrorise other caste people and live on the vasool. Its not possible now. People of all caste have gone up too far. Every caste is capable of terrorising and threatening every other caste now. So, the DEVAR caste people should change their mind set and try to improve in order to come up in life through good education, healthy habits like Nadars who were once almost equal to scheduled people. Education only is the liberatiing Mantra not your Aruval/Kathi/Murukapatthi.

You proved your half cooked and you feel proud that you tarnished the image of Thevar community. When Subash Chandra Bose organised a revolutionary army to fight against British rulers, where were you cowards? How come these British people were ruling and ruining before independence? All because you kind of self centred individuals were associated with British people and doing spy work, which made them to rule our mother land. You mischief mindset people were doing this kind of twisting work then and now. Velu Nachiyar the great thevar princess ignited the First independence revolution in south India. The then Maruthu pandiyars also contributed for freedom struggle. Kattabomman was hanged because of ETTAPAN (YOU KIND OF coward RASCAL) whereas Maruthupandiyar were hanged just because they were not revealing Kattaboman’s whereabouts to British rulers during their search.
You preach your stories to those who are in need of rotti and shelter not to brave community
